Chief Financial Officer – Tour de Cure

Finance • Eveleigh, New South Wales 2015, Australia • Full-time

Description

Purpose‑Driven Executive Opportunity | Help us cure cancer | Change lives—every single day.

Tour de Cure is one of Australia’s most dynamic not‑for‑profit organisations, dedicated to funding world‑class cancer research, support and prevention initiatives. Since 2007, our community has raised over $158 million, contributed to 230+ major cancer research breakthroughs, and helped countless Australians facing cancer.

We are now seeking a strategic, values‑driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our Executive Leadership Team and help lead Tour de Cure into its next chapter of impact and growth.

Why this role matters

This is not a typical CFO role. You will oversee finance, technology and have input to strategy, governance and risk. But more importantly, your decisions will directly influence how effectively and sustainably we fund life‑saving cancer research.

Every budget forecast, system improvement, technology uplift and governance decision you lead will help accelerate discoveries, support families, and bring us closer to a world where cancer becomes a survivable condition.

If you’re a senior leader who wants their work to mean something bigger, this is that role.

Budgeting, Grants & Fundraising Insights

Lead organisational budgeting, forecasting and performance review. Oversee grant allocations, reconciliation and compliance. Provide insights into donation revenue and fundraising performance.

Legal, Compliance & Risk

Ensure all financial operations comply with relevant regulators including ATO, ACNC, ASIC and state agencies. Maintain all organisational insurance policies and key contractual agreements. Lead financial and operational risk assessments, including maintenance of organisational risk matrix.

What you bring

CPA/CA accreditation and senior executive financial leadership experience. Strong strategic capability in finance, technology and cyber‑security. Proven experience operating at executive level within a complex or large not‑for‑profit organisation. A collaborative leadership style, exceptional interpersonal skills and deep stakeholder capability. A commitment to our CARING values: Courageous, Achieving, Respectful, Inclusive, Nurturing and Growing.

What we offer

A chance to do your best work in service of something truly meaningful. A values‑driven culture passionate about making a difference. Hybrid work environment (3 days in-office).

Not for profit salary packaging. The opportunity to participate in iconic Tour de Cure events and see your impact firsthand.
