An exciting opportunity is available for a Learning & Development Coordinator to join the Human Resources team in our Business Services Unit.

Are you bright, enthusiastic, and eager to make a meaningful impact? Join our dynamic Business Support Unit as a Learning & Development Coordinator. Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, you will play an integral role in designing and delivering high quality, innovative Learning and Development solutions to the Partners and staff of Thynne + Macartney.

Your diverse responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing L&D solutions that respond to the strategic needs of the firm.
  • Engaging with practice groups/individuals to assess capability, performance and learning requirements and provide recommendations and strategies that will enhance capabilities.
  • Managing the delivery of the firm’s training program in line with identified business needs and compliance obligations, including facilitating, and liaising with internal and external training providers.
  • Proactively networking and cultivating connections within the expansive legal community to discern compelling topics and identify speakers of interest.
  • Managing specific L&D projects to support organisational development goals.
  • Ensuring L&D programs consider a range of delivery options including face-to-face, webinar, online learning, and workplace projects.
  • Managing the delivery of the firm’s mentoring program, providing coaching and support as required.
  • Conducting induction and orientation programs, including production of training materials.
  • Collaborating with IT to develop and deliver IT/technical updates as required.
  • Managing all employee training data and ensure professional staff compliance with QLS CPD obligations.
  • Ensuring L&D manuals/guides are current.
  • Effectively promoting the firm’s L&D programs/projects to ensure ongoing engagement.
  • Maintaining an understanding of L&D best practice to drive continuous improvement across the firm.
  • Assisting with firm-wide initiatives as part of the Business Services Unit.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant firm policies, procedures and business systems.
  • Any other ad hoc duties as reasonably directed by the Human Resources Manager.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, or similar equivalent with a solid background in learning & development.
  • Ideally 3 years’ Human Resources or L&D experience in a professional services environment.
  • Highly developed customer service, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • A willingness to deliver internal training and facilitator skills are essential.
  • An impeccable organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • An ability to be self-motivated and work autonomously in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems (experience using Go1 is advantageous).
