About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic solicitor to join our Insolvency & Dispute Resolution team as a Lawyer or an Associate.

Working closely with an experienced Partner and with Special Counsel, you will enjoy direct client contact, responsibility for your own file management and developing your technical expertise across a broad range of Secured and Unsecured Insolvency and Commercial Dispute Resolution matters.

Key Tasks

Under the guidance of senior lawyers and with the support of juniors in the team, you will:

  • Take instructions from, and provide technical and practical advice to, Insolvency Practitioners, SME businesses and sophisticated individuals.
  • Devise strategies and recommendations to achieve client goals.
  • Apply and further develop your technical legal knowledge and your skills in strategic negotiation and dispute resolution.
  • Spearhead the day-to-day conduct of litigation primarily in the Queensland Supreme Court and the Federal Court with proactive file management, including some supervision of junior staff.
  • Instruct counsel and also have opportunity for your own court appearances and advocacy from time to time.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you will:

  • Be an admitted Solicitor or Associate with 1 to 4 years’ experience, and be available to work full-time.
  • Be self-motivated, with the capability to work independently.
  • Be dedicated to maintaining confidentiality and providing excellence in client service.
  • Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive working and client relationships at all levels.
  • Have exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
