House Manager (SIL)

Description

The House Manager (SIL) is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of a Supported Independent Living home, ensuring participants receive safe, high-quality, and person-centred supports in line with their NDIS goals. This role combines leadership, coordination, and hands-on support to create a positive home environment where participants feel respected, included, and empowered to live as independently as possible.

As a House Manager, you will oversee staff rosters, support worker supervision, participant care planning, and household management including budgets, property maintenance, and safety compliance. You will also maintain accurate documentation, monitor quality and safeguarding standards, and ensure incidents, risks, and behavioural supports are escalated appropriately. Collaboration with families, guardians, allied health professionals, and other stakeholders is a key part of the role to ensure each participant’s needs and preferences are met.

House Managers report to the SIL Team Leader / Service Manager and are responsible for leading by example, fostering a culture of respect, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the home.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III or higher in Disability, Community Services, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of SIL, NDIS Practice Standards, and restrictive practice requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in disability or community services.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid & CPR, and driver’s licence.
  • Highly desirable: experience with complex behaviours, HIDPA, or mental health supports.
