The Role
As a Leading Hand Scaffolder, you will play a key role in leading site crews while
remaining hands-on in the installation and dismantling of scaffolding systems.
This role requires strong leadership, a commitment to safety, and the ability
to coordinate work efficiently on active project sites.
Key responsibilities include:
• Lead Scaffold Crews Safely and Efficiently – Supervise scaffolders and labourers, allocate tasks, and ensure scaffolds are erected, modified, and dismantled safely in line with Australian Standards and legislative requirements.
• Maintain Site Safety and Compliance – Conduct pre-starts, enforce PPE and SWMS requirements, and report hazards or incidents to ensure all work meets WHS and site safety standards.
• Coordinate Labour, Materials, and Equipment – Communicate site requirements with supervisors and yard teams to ensure scaffold materials and resources are available to keep work progressing.
• Ensure Scaffold Quality and Compliance – Inspect scaffolds, ensure tagging and documentation requirements are met, and confirm structures meet project specifications and Australian Standards before handover.
• Complete Site Documentation – Maintain accurate site diaries, day works, and handover records in line with company procedures.
• Demonstrate Leadership and Team Culture – Model the company’s leadership behaviours of customer focus, collaboration, developing others, and action-oriented problem solving to maintain a safe, productive, and respectful team environment.
