About the Role:
We’re seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Quality to lead our quality strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of excellence across our operations. If you’re a strategic leader with a proven track record in quality management within regulated industries, we want to hear from you!
Daily, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of product quality across all our operations, including those managed by external suppliers and contract manufacturers. You’ll drive the development and continuous improvement of our Quality Management System (QMS), ensure compliance with global standards such as FSANZ, TGA, cGMP, HACCP, and ISO, and lead a dedicated Quality Team to safeguard our reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive QMS, set quality objectives, and align strategies with business goals.
- Ensure adherence to Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code, TGA, cGMP/FSMA, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, HACCP, SQF, and USDA organic standards.
- Lead certification pursuits and manage regulatory audits.
- Oversee supplier quality programs, qualify and audit suppliers, approve product specifications, and ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements.
- Lead root-cause analysis, CAPA programs, and risk-based testing to enhance product consistency and reduce defects.
- Manage and mentor the Quality Team, fostering a collaborative, quality-driven culture. Set clear goals, provide coaching, and ensure team compliance.
- Uphold WHS policies to ensure a safe working environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, microbiology, food science, chemistry, or a related field (highly desirable).
- 5 years’ progressive quality experience in regulated industries (food, nutraceuticals, or pharmaceuticals), with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Expert knowledge of FSANZ, TGA, cGMP, HACCP, FDA, USDA, and ISO standards.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex projects, and drive supplier quality programs.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office, ERP, and QMS systems.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
