We’re growing and seeking great people with genuine passion and care to join us as a Disability Support Worker within our Day Services across our Northern Melbourne Day Services sites of The Bridge with immediate work available, following onboarding procedures.
About You:
You’re passionate about empowering people with disabilities to live more independently and experience meaningful participation in their community. You thrive in a dynamic environment where no two days look the same — whether you’re delivering personalised 1:1 support, facilitating engaging group activities like cooking or dancing, or assisting with personal care, manual handling and behavioural support. You value work/life balance and appreciate a Monday–Friday schedule (9am–3pm). You bring a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and enjoy being part of a friendly, supportive team led by experienced Service Coordinators / Practice Leads who champion your growth and development.
Role Responsibilities:
• Support clients’ community, social, and work goals using positive behaviour strategies.
• Work collaboratively with Allied Health and key stakeholders.
• Provide personal care and support with daily living needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation and report concerns or incidents promptly.
• Review and update client plans, risk assessments, and follow rostered duties aligned with NDIS requirements.
Essential Selection Criteria:
• Certificate IV in Disability or relevant transferable qualification.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Proven ability to support participant wellbeing, independence, and goal achievement.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing workplace needs.
• Strong problem-solving skills, creative thinking, and solid safety awareness.
• Able to remain calm under pressure and seek support appropriately.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient with MS Office, Client Management Systems, and related software.
• Working With Children Check (desirable).
Additional Requirements:
• Two satisfactory reference checks
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance
• Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• Legal right to work in Australia
