The RAES Employment Placement Support provides ongoing support to participants who have commenced employment, training or work placements through RAES. The role focuses on improving retention, building workplace capability, addressing barriers and supporting both participants and employers to achieve sustainable outcomes.

This position works closely with participants, employers, training providers and internal RAES staff to ensure post-placement support is responsive, culturally appropriate and compliant with contractual and organisational requirements.

About You:

  • Experience supporting individuals in employment, training or work placement settings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with participants and employers.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to respond flexibly to emerging issues.
  • Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple participants and priorities.
  • Sound administrative and record-keeping skills, including use of case management or reporting systems.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Resilience and the ability to work effectively in remote and complex environments.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including data entry and reporting.
  • Commitment to the objectives and principles of Remote Area Employment Services (RAES).

Desirable:

  • Experience working in remote Aboriginal communities.
  • Knowledge of employment services, vocational education and training pathways.

Other Requirements:

  • National Police Check.
  • Northern Land Council Work and Residential Permits.
  • Northern Territory (Working with Children) Ochre Card.
  • Minimum C class drivers’ licence.
