Description

Summary:

The Painter will be responsible for preparing and painting surfaces using different techniques, tools, and equipment in various settings, such as construction sites, residential or commercial buildings, and public spaces.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting
  • Mix and match paint colors
  • Apply paint to surfaces
  • Use tape, stencils, and other materials to create decorative patterns and designs
  • Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment
  • Fill and repair minor structural defects
  • Evaluate job specifications and materials
  • Select and purchase paints, varnishes, and other finishes
  • Follow safety practices and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a painter in the construction industry
  • Knowledge of different painting techniques, tools, and equipment
  • Understanding of color theory and paint mixing
  • Ability to read and interpret job specifications
  • Attention to detail and precision
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently or in a team
  • Physical stamina and manual dexterity
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational or technical training in painting, construction or a related field is an asset
  • Certification in painting or related field is preferred
  • Valid driver’s license may be required
  • Safe use of ladders or scaffolding certificate is an asset.
