Project Coordinator – Sustainable Agriculture (Wet
Tropics)

Terrain NRM is seeking a motivated Project Coordinator to
support the delivery of key sustainable agriculture projects across the Wet
Tropics, including Climate Smart Farming and Future Farms initiatives.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading
not-for-profit natural resource management organisation, supporting landholders
and partners to deliver practical, on-ground outcomes that improve
productivity, sustainability and landscape resilience.
About the role
As Project Coordinator, you will play a key role in
coordinating and supporting the delivery of projects focused on sustainable
agriculture and land management.
You will work closely with delivery partners, landholders,
Traditional Owners, government agencies and community organisations to support
effective project implementation, stakeholder engagement and reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating stakeholder
engagement activities, including workshops, field days and on-ground
demonstration activities
- Supporting delivery of
project activities in collaboration with landholders and delivery partners
- Assisting with project
planning, scheduling and coordination
- Contributing to
monitoring, data collection and reporting requirements
- Supporting contract and
partner management, including tracking deliverables and milestones
- Liaising with internal
teams and external stakeholders to support effective project delivery
Location
This role may be based within the Wet Tropics region, with
flexibility to work from one of Terrain’s offices or remotely. Travel within
the region will be required to support project delivery and stakeholder
engagement.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience
coordinating or supporting delivery of environmental, agricultural or
community-based projects
- Has strong stakeholder
engagement and relationship management skills
- Can work both
independently and collaboratively across teams
- Is a confident
communicator with strong written and verbal skills
- Can apply or quickly
acquire project-relevant technical knowledge (desirable)
Selection Criteria
Authority and Accountability
Proven experience in coordinating or supporting delivery of collaborative and
community-focused projects that deliver environmental, economic and community
benefits.
Management Skills
Proven experience or ability in supporting the development, monitoring and
evaluation of budgets to ensure quality project delivery.
Ability to work independently and remotely.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate project activities and support small teams.
Specialist Knowledge & Skills
Strong skills in delivering projects using relevant frameworks or principles,
with the ability to build effective partnerships and work collaboratively.
Demonstrated ability to apply or rapidly acquire technical, environmental,
agricultural or community-based knowledge relevant to project delivery
(desirable).
Interpersonal Skills
High-level verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a range
of stakeholders.
Judgement & Problem Solving
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement in analysing, prioritising and
resolving project issues.
Ability to work with a level of independence under delegated authority, seeking
guidance on complex matters as required.
Qualifications and Experience
Relevant degree or equivalent qualification and/or industry experience in
natural resource management, environmental science, sustainability,
agriculture, community development or a related field.
Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office suite) essential.
Project management training or willingness to undertake.
