About the role
We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-quality business intelligence reports and dashboards. This role will play a key part in delivering trusted insights through well-designed data models, robust DAX calculations, and secure reporting solutions.
You will work closely with data, analytics, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into intuitive, performant, and scalable Power BI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Power BI Report Development
• Design and develop Power BI reports and dashboards, including:
o Interactive, analytical reports drill-throughs, tooltips, bookmarks, and navigation
o Near real-time operational dashboards
o Paginated reports (Fixed layout, print-friendly reports)
o KPI tiles and dynamic visuals
• Build and maintain robust DAX measures and calculations, including:
o Time intelligence
o Dynamic and context-aware measures
• Ensure optimal performance, usability, and consistency across reports
• Implement and manage Row-Level Security (RLS) and Object-Level Security (OLS)
Data Integration & Modelling
• Integrate Power BI solutions with Databricks SQL Warehouses
• Consume curated Gold-layer views to support trusted analytics
• Develop efficient and scalable data models aligned to best practices
Tooling, DevOps & Governance
• Use Tabular Editor and DAX Studio for model optimisation and development
• Manage Power BI Service assets, including:
o Workspaces
o Datasets
o Gateways
o Refresh schedules
• Follow Git-based workflows for version control and deployment
• Support BI governance, documentation, and development standards
Workflow & Automation (Desirable)
• Exposure to Power Apps and Power Automate to support:
o End-to-end workflows
o Report comments
o Write-back scenarios
• Contribute to improved user interaction and process automation where applicable
Skills and Experience
• 3–5 years’ experience in BI or report development
• At least 2 years’ hands-on Power BI experience
• Strong expertise in:
o Power BI report design (interactive/analytical, paginated and dashboards)
o DAX (including time intelligence)
o Data modelling best practices
• Experience implementing RLS and OLS
• Familiarity with Power BI Service administration
• Experience integrating Power BI with Databricks
• Exposure to Databricks SQL Warehouses and curated data layers
• Experience using Tabular Editor and DAX Studio
• Understanding of Git-based development workflows
• Exposure to Power Apps and Power Automate
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
• Ability to translate business needs into clear insights
