Employment OS for your Business

Regional Farm Manager

Management • Cambridge, Tasmania 7170, Australia • Full-time

Description

Tasmanian Oyster Co (TOC for short) is committed to being the leader in sustainable oyster production, striving for best practice and continuous improvement in the management of the environment in which we operate. We are currently looking for a Regional Farm Manager at our Pittwater (Cambridge) farm.

The role

This role is about managing the people and resources on our farm to keep our farm full and produce premium quality oysters. Stock control, planning, quality control and communicating to the crew will take up most of your time, and for the most part, will deliver results to meet your sales and quality targets. Being governed by nature, best laid plans can go awry, and that’s when you’ll problem solve, then plan and communicate again. You won’t be doing it alone – the beauty of a growing business means you’ll have fellow Regional Farm Managers at other sites to regularly talk to and learn from, as well as our General Manager Production Operations and an incredible group of experienced Team Leaders to support you on site.

About you

We are looking for an experienced Leader. Someone who is cool under pressure, takes ownership, is focused on coaching and developing their team. Being an experienced oyster farmer would be an advantage – however it’s OK if you’re not. You may have farmed in another industry, or you might have been in a leadership role in supply chain, production or logistics. If you haven’t worked in a similar role before, you’ll need to be comfortable on the water and out in the elements!

The other vital skills, experience and attributes you’ll need are:

• Leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to coach others to achieve results

• Demonstrated understanding of stock management and the ability to understand required quality standards

• Experience with scheduling, logistics, and the ability to maximise time and resources to meet deadlines and targets

• Computer literacy

• A safety focus and a drive to look out for others

• An eye for detail and a level of care for our product, our quality standards, and our farms

• Excellent problem-solving skills, and a collaborative approach
