SWAMS is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation delivering services throughout Noongar Country. SWAMS has been provided with new funding for Katanning, Narrogin, Brunswick and Busselton to deliver health services to the Aboriginal community. SWAMS will be delivering a range of services in these towns including GP clinics, health care, counselling and NDIS.
An exciting opportunity exists for a General Practitioner who wants to make a difference in Aboriginal health. You will join a supportive team including Primary Health Nurses, Child Health Nurses, Midwives, Chronic Condition Nurses, Mental Health and Aboriginal Health Workers and Practitioners. The hours are from 8:45 am to 5:06 pm Monday to Friday. There is no weekend or on-call work. SWAMS also runs outreach clinics in Manjimup, Collie, Busselton, Brunswick, Narrogin and Katanning. All travel is done during working hours.

While this position is based in Bunbury, the successful candidate should be flexible to cover our SWAMS outreach clinics if needed. Please specify which location you are interested in working at.
Essential Criteria
• Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a General Practitioner.
• Hold valid provider and prescriber numbers from the Health Insurance Commission of Australia.
• Vocational Registration, or hold a Fellowship with FRACGP, FACRRM.
• Ongoing participation in Continuing Education programs as directed by either RACGP or ACRRM.
Desirable Criteria
• Understanding of Aboriginal Culture, values and health issues.
• Knowledge and experience of Medicare billing practices including PIP and SIP payments.
• Clinical experience in an Aboriginal Medical Service/Aboriginal health
• Experience in rural/remote settings
• Willingness to be included in our Outreach clinic GP Roster
