As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Enrolled Nurse (EN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to provide clinical leadership and deliver high-quality care in line with NDIS standards and best-practice guidelines.
About the Role
Reporting to the Regional SIL Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing and delivering clinical care to participants within our Supported Independent Living (SIL) services. This is a hands-on clinical role suited to a nurse who enjoys working collaboratively with disability support teams while ensuring safe, compliant, and person-centred care.
This is a casual position with the opportunity for part-time, offering flexible shifts based on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to a participant living with paraplegia within a Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment
• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and contribute to the development and ongoing review of individualised care plans specific to spinal cord injury management
• Provide and oversee complex care supports including bowel care, catheter care (IDC/SPC), pressure area care, skin integrity monitoring, and infection prevention
• Administer and monitor medications in accordance with scope of practice and regulatory requirements
• Monitor and manage risks associated with reduced mobility, including pressure injuries, autonomic dysreflexia (if applicable), and respiratory complications
• Provide clinical oversight and guidance to disability support workers and AINs to ensure safe manual handling, transfers (including hoist use), and positioning techniques
• Support the participant to maintain independence, dignity, and active community engagement
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and health monitoring records
• Ensure compliance with AHPRA standards, NDIS Practice Standards, and high-intensity support requirements
• Implement infection control, wound management, and risk mitigation strategies
• Respond effectively to medical emergencies and escalate clinical concerns appropriately
About You
• Current registration with AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse (EN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
• Experience in disability, SIL, community, or aged care settings (highly regarded)
• Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills
• Understanding of NDIS Practice Standards and high-intensity support requirements
• Experience supporting participants with complex health needs (desirable)
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Highly organised with strong attention to clinical documentation and compliance
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, WWCC (if required), Police Check, First Aid & CPR
