Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the design and development of SVA products. Your role includes, but is not limited to
- Design and modify electrical systems to suit job specific requirements.
- Produce electrical drawings in accordance with SVA work instructions, procedures and Australian Standards.
- Produce information for the manufacture of harness’s
- Produce BOM for electrical components.
- Liaise with mechanical and hydraulic engineers and auto electricians during the job processing.
- Liaise with suppliers and customers to provide technical support.
- Investigate and report on best products and suppliers of electrical components for both quality and competitive pricing.
- Provide technical support to the sales, warranty/site services and production teams.
- Proactively suggest innovations or additions to the SVA range of products
- Ensure function testing/commissioning recording sheets for jobs are available.
- Undertakes commissioning, troubleshooting and diagnostics as required.
- Train and support the assembly workshop for ongoing improvement and developments in this area.
- Responding to internal engineering requests (Engineering Job Requests – EJRs)
- Research and Development projects as required.
Skills and Qualifications

Technical Qualifications – Engineering Certificate/Degree, Auto Electrical Trade Certificate
- Work experience within a similar industry (desirable)
- Proven proficiency with 3D modelling applications (preferably SolidWorks and AutoCAD)
- Manufacturing experience in a similar environment
- Willingness and interested to expand knowledge base about design of mining equipment
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in order to work with colleagues, suppliers and other personnel on a daily basis.
- Good organisation, multitasking and time management skills that delivers effective planning and house keeping standards.
- Passion for engineering and analytical mindset
- Self motivated
- Strong commitment to health and safety
- Computer experience using standard MS Office suite of programs
