About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Physiotherapist to join our residential aged care team. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy services to support residents in maintaining mobility, function, and overall wellbeing.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to positive clinical outcomes and improved quality of life for older residents. The role also involves supporting staff through manual handling training, occasional travel between sites, and supporting residents’ participation in mobility-related and wellbeing activities as part of physiotherapy programs.
This is a physiotherapy-focused role, with dedicated care staff supporting residents’ personal care needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments and develop individualised care plans
- Deliver evidence-based interventions focused on mobility, strength, pain management, and falls prevention
- Monitor, evaluate, and document resident progress and outcomes
- Provide clinical guidance and education to care staff and families
- Develop and review mobility and manual handling plans
- Assist in delivering manual handling training to staff
- Support residents’ participation in mobility-related and wellbeing activities as part of physiotherapy programs
- Collaborate with the lifestyle team to integrate mobility and wellness activities into daily care
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences
- Ensure compliance with aged care quality standards and clinical governance requirements
- Undertake occasional travel between sites as required
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy (or equivalent)
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Bilingual in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is highly regarded
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in aged care (essential)
- Demonstrated understanding of the Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC) and its impact on care planning, funding, and resident outcomes
- Ability to align physiotherapy interventions with AN-ACC care needs and documentation requirements
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Commitment to delivering person-centred care
