The Role
As a Business Development Manager, you will act as the primary point of contact for prospective brand partners, proactively seeking new distribution partnerships aligned to portfolio strategy.
You will support both inbound and outbound business development, tender processes, commercial negotiations, brand onboarding, and vertical portfolio expansion by identifying new channel opportunities. Strong commercial judgment, financial discipline and confidentiality are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead inbound brand enquiries and proactively pursue new brand partnerships
aligned to strategic priorities
- Develop opportunity assessments, including market size, channel fit and commercial
viability
- Coordinate cross-functional teams during tender processes and commercial negotiations
- Build business cases including margin modelling, import/export costs, FX,
compliance, and working capital
- Identify opportunities for existing brands in new channels and support portfolio
expansion
- Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and prospective/existing brand
partners
- Ensure disciplined documentation of assumptions, financials and operational plans
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years’ experience in FMCG commercial, category or business development roles
Proven experience in tender processes and commercial negotiations
- Strong financial acumen and ability to build/interprete commercial models
- Understanding of import/export mechanics, international freight, duties and compliance
- Commercially minded with excellent analytical and stakeholder management skills
- High discretion, integrity and ability to manage multiple priorities
