Stride Early Learning is seeking a passionate and dedicated Child Care Cook to join our dynamic team! Child Care Cook is responsible for preparing healthy, balanced and culturally appropriate meals for children aged 0-6 years in an early childhood service.

We are on the lookout for a passionate cook to prepare fresh, wholesome meals for our wonderful children each day in our early learning center.

This role is perfect for someone returning to the workforce, or anyone looking for family-friendly, school-hour work while doing something truly meaningful.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals for children.

• Plan menus considering dietary requirements, allergies and cultural preferences.

• Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met.

• Collaborate with educators and families to meet individual dietary needs.

• Maintain kitchen and food handling areas, ensuring a safe, clean environment.

• Manage food purchasing and adhere to budget guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate – can be obtained with in 3 months

• Valid Working with Children Check clearance

Essential Criteria:

• In-depth knowledge of food safety and handling guidelines.

• Proven ability to plan menus, meet nutritional requirements and work within budget constraints while maintaining meal quality.

• Strong understanding of children’s nutritional needs.

• Demonstrated expertise in food handling practices and ensuring food safety.
