Barista

Overall Purpose of the Role

To deliver the highest standard possible in terms of both hot and cold beverage delivery, customer service and fostering a supportive learning environment for all trainees. All people who conduct work for STREAT are expected to act ethically to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

Role Duties:

Maintaining the clean and orderly condition of the coffee and front of house area.

Providing friendly and efficient customer service.

Creating coffee and other beverages in line with the organisation’s standards.

Ensure beverage recipes are adhered to and coffee is weighed, ground, and dosed according to STREAT’s guidelines.

Follow company policies and procedures.

Coach trainees in job skills on their work experience shifts, based on their level of ability and comfort.

Any other reasonable daily tasks as outlined to you by your supervisor.

Role requirements:

Must display customer awareness, hustle, and dedication to customer satisfaction.

Must have a strong work ethic and a willingness to ensure STREAT’s standards are upheld.

Must have competent barista skills – with an understanding that it is a customer service role.

Must display a warm, welcoming manner to customers, trainees, and other STREAT staff.

Must display an interest in coffee processes and be willing to gain further knowledge in this area.

Must be willing to attend staff meetings and develop skills as a barista.

Must be willing to attend regular professional development training and participate in the processes supporting the training of young people.

Must Be a responsible role model for trainees according to the processes and boundaries outlined by the Youth Programs team.
