Stepping Stone House provides a safe place for children and young people (age 12- 24) at risk or experiencing homelessness so they can begin to heal, build resilience, create connections and become the very best they can be.
We are currently looking for a Case Work Team Manager to support in our team of Case Managers across our ITC and Semi & Independent Programs.
In your role as a Case Work Team Manager, you will offer best-practice casework guidance, ensuring quality work and compliance with the Department of Communities and Justice Case work policies and the Office of the Children’s Guardian NSW Child Safe Standards for Permanent Care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialist advice to all levels of management and groups of staff on case practice matters and provide expert assistance in complex or sensitive cases
Work with and mentor case managers to role model and develop case practice skills that is responsive to the changing needs of children, young people and families
Review and sign off case plans for each young person in OOHC and provide best practice feedback to Case Managers.
Ensure leaving care plans and financial plans are delivered on time and are comprehensive to cover all leaving care needs of young people transitioning to independence.
Ensure Case Managers are aware of court requirements relating to Case Plan goal updates
Ensure case planning is completed with families for young people with a case plan goal of restoration.
Ensure each young person has a meaningful Cultural Care plan.
Provide individual and group training to case managers on various subject matters relating to case work practice within the DCJ case work policies and provide any updates on legislation.
Knowledge, Qualification & Experience:
Degree in relevant social sciences (e.g. social work, psychology). Further relevant qualifications would be desirable.
At least 5 years’ experience of case work within Out of Home Care systems
Demonstrated leadership capabilities
Demonstrated evidence of working with young people with complex, high needs and the strategies used to support them
Demonstrated experience and or understanding of Trauma Informed Care and willingness to work within a therapeutic framework.
Demonstrated skills in negotiation, problem solving, conflict resolution and engagement with the young people to achieve positive outcomes
Demonstrated skills and experience in designing, implementing and reviewing of case management strategies and case plans.
Knowledge of legislative, governance and accreditation requirements for residential services
Working with Children certification
Effective management of relationships with external stakeholders

Remuneration
The position will be paid at SCHADS Level 6 – Pay Point dependent on experience and qualification level.
