Production Coordinator

Steel Mains is Australia’s leading manufacturer and supplier of complete pipeline systems for the transportation of water and wastewater, offering a total solutions approach to its customers.

Our Plant in Somerton, Victoria is currently looking for a Fittings and Pipe Production Planner to join the team. Reporting to the Fittings Production Manager this role is responsible for providing technical support to the fittings production team.

The successful candidate needs to be results orientated, highly organised, innovative and flexible. An ability to coordinate multiple tasks and effectively communicate the progress of concurrent works.

The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Fittings Production Planner.
• Maintain integrity of data in ERP system and internal planning files.
• Create Fittings documents – Issue bend/scour/branch templates and PCP (pipe cutting plan).
• Maintain Fittings register – Job status, Draft, Fittings Consumer Tracker and Offcut.
• Procurement of Fittings materials and Update inwards goods register as required.
• Forecasting Fittings production .
• Assist with fittings dispatch.
• Coordination in consultation with Finishing and Fabrication Supervisor regarding allocation of works to shopfloor personnel.
• Ensure that the quality of product delivered is of a standard which complies with relevant applicable standards.

The successful candidate will have:

• Ability to interpret Technical Drawings
• Confident user of MS Office (Word, Excel etc.)
• Willingness to learn and think outside the box
• Proven ability to work autonomously, reliably and in a team environment
• Energetic and enthusiastic attitude
• Flexible and hands on approach to all tasks at hand

Desired (not essential):

• Engineering qualification, Trade or Technical background
• Experience in a technical Manufacturing environment (planning or production)
• Experience with an ERP system
