The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Compliance Coordinator (VET and Higher Education) to oversee the daily operational management of compliance across both regulatory frameworks. Based at the West Perth Campus and reporting to the Quality and Compliance Manager, this role provides leadership and oversight to the Quality and Compliance team, ensuring the College maintains full compliance with ASQA, TEQSA, ESOS, and related legislative and accreditation requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the Quality and Compliance function across VET and Higher Education, including supervision of Compliance Officers and Compliance Administrators.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable regulatory frameworks including ASQA, TEQSA, ESOS, National Code, AQF, ELICOS Standards, and Professional Year Program requirements.
- Monitor regulatory updates and provide strategic guidance to Academic and operational leaders to ensure timely and effective implementation.
- Oversee policy and procedure management, ensuring systematic review, approval, and regulatory alignment.
- Manage internal compliance monitoring, validation schedules, audit programs, and continuous improvement registers across the College.
- Coordinate regulatory reporting, material change applications, and submissions to governing bodies including the Board of Directors, Academic Board, VET Council, and Audit and Risk Committee.
- Support external audits and regulatory reviews, ensuring documentation, evidence, and action plans are well-prepared and effectively managed.
- Oversee compliance of academic staff credentialing, award issuance processes, and documentation control systems.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate compliance risks while driving sustainable quality improvements across the organisation.
- Promote a culture of safety, integrity, diversity, and alignment with institutional values and strategic objectives.
About You
- Extensive experience in compliance management within both the VET and Higher Education sectors.
- Strong working knowledge of ASQA, TEQSA, the Higher Education Standards Framework (2021), the VET Quality Framework, ESOS Act, National Code 2018, ELICOS Standards, AQF, and related regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated experience leading audit preparation, regulatory reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and oversee compliance systems, risk management frameworks, and policy governance processes.
- Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and guide leaders across the organisation.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in education, compliance, quality assurance, governance, or a related discipline (postgraduate qualification desirable).
- Advanced capability in student management systems, compliance technologies, and data reporting tools.
