Production Technician (Packaging & Warehouse)

Location: Sydney

Employment Type:

• Part-time/ Full-time (6-12 months Fixed Term Contract), with the possibility of extension of conversion to permanent employment for the right candidate

• Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9AM – 5PM

About the Role:

The Production Technician (Packaging) supports manufacturing and packaging operations within a strictly regulated medical devices environment. This role focuses on the accurate assembly, labelling, and packaging of IVD products while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Extensive training is provided to support a smooth transition into the role.

Your primary responsibilities will involve but not limited to:

Production & Packaging Operations

• Assemble and package IVD and medical device products in accordance with approved procedures and work instructions

• Prepare, inspect, and label finished good accurately

• Perform picking and packaging of materials required for production

• Conduct line clearance and in-process checks as instructed

• Work efficiently to meet production schedules and manufacturing targets

Quality, Compliance & Documentation

• Manufacture products in compliance with ISO 13485, cGMP, and relevant regulatory requirements

• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely production and batch records

• Inspect raw materials and production consumable prior to use

• Identify, report, and assist in investigating deviations, product failures, or production errors

• Support audits through preparation of documentation and compliance activities

• Assist in the development and maintenance of production documentation, including SOPs and batch records

Safety & Housekeeping

• Work in accordance with laboratory safety, health, and environmental standards

• Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant work environment

• Use PPE and follow all workplace health and safety procedures

Team & Warehouse Support

• Work collaboratively within a tight-knit production team

• Provide operational support to the warehouse team as required, including packing, dispatch preparation, and material movement

• Participate in training, continuous improvement activities, and team initiatives

Key requirements: (Qualifications/ Technical & Specialist Skills/ Experiences)

Essential

• Experience working in a manufacturing, production, packaging, or laboratory environment

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Good organisational and time-management skills

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel

Desirable

• Tertiary degree in Science

• Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or GMP-regulated manufacturing

• Previous laboratory or cleanroom experience

• Familiarity with quality systems and controlled documentation
