Service and Community Engagement Lead

Space for Life by BGSR is seeking an experienced Service and Community Engagement Lead to support high-quality disability service delivery and strengthen community partnerships.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this role provides hands-on support to frontline teams and oversees 3 Team Leaders and 10+ House Leads. The position plays a key role in service quality, compliance oversight, community engagement, and supporting organisational growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide day-to-day guidance and support to service delivery teams to ensure consistent, high-quality, person-centred supports aligned with participant goals and organisational values
• Oversee participant documentation, incident reporting, restrictive practices, and compliance processes to ensure alignment with NDIS Practice Standards, safeguarding requirements, and internal policies
• Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with participants, families/guardians, SDA providers, referral agencies, and community partners
• Actively follow up enquiries, support onboarding of new participants, and contribute to service growth, engagement activities, and continuous improvement initiatives
Selection Criteria
Essential
• Minimum 12 months’ experience in disability or community services
• Strong understanding of the NDIS, including service agreements, rosters, and funding utilisation
• Experience supporting frontline teams and maintaining service quality
• Knowledge of behaviours of concern, restrictive practices, and incident reporting
• Strong communication, organisation, and reporting skills
• Knowledge and understanding of business development
• Confidence using CRMs/workforce systems (e.g. ShiftCare) and Microsoft Office
Desirable
• Leadership or coordination experience
• Experience engaging with SDA providers
• Knowledge of PRODA and the SCHADS Award
• Relevant tertiary qualification
Requirements
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation
• Australian working rights
• Class C Driver’s Licence
