The role
The Head of Biometrics is a strategic leadership role responsible focussed on building and scaling a high-performing, technology-enabled biometrics function encompassing Biostatistics, Statistical
Programming, Data Management, and Medical Writing.
This role is less about CRO or specific technical domain depth and more about transformational leadership, operational excellence, digital innovation with a focus on developing an AI roadmap, and
talent development. The successful candidate will build a modern, scalable biometrics department and service that drives quality, efficiency, and commercial competitiveness.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Build & Lead the Function: Lead a high‑performing biometrics function with a clear structure,
career development pathways and strong leadership capability within the
team. Develop a culture of accountability and excellence, with clear
performance metrics established for all roles within the department.
- Technology & Digital Enablement: Lead the optimisation of biometrics systems, eg.
automation, data visualisation and AI enabled workflows to improve
scalability, speed, and quality.
- Operational & Commercial Leadership: Develop scalable resourcing models, establish
delivery governance and quality oversight frameworks and support Business
Development in proposals and bid defence meetings.
- Client & Stakeholder Impact: Act as senior escalation pathway for clients and
contribute to enterprise‑wide strategy and cross‑functional alignment.
To be successful in the role, we’re looking for candidates with:
- A
strong track record leading technology‑enabled or data‑driven transformation.
- Experience
scaling departments within mid‑sized or high‑growth organisations.
- Senior
leadership experience (Director / VP / Head of Function) in human health,
pharma, or data‑intensive environments (desirable).
- Background
in CRO, biotech, consulting, health‑tech, or similar sectors
- Relevant
tertiary qualifications in medical, pharmaceutical, or healthcare
disciplines (desirable).
