We are seeking an experienced Groundsperson to join our Racing Operations team to ensure delivery of superior quality racing surfaces, training facilities, grounds and associated amenities.
To be successful in this role, you will naturally demonstrate:
- An understanding of the Racing Industry
- High degree of communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment
A few of your key responsibilities
- Routine maintenance of grounds, racetracks, turf, synthetic, artificial and other surfaces
- Moving running rails and attending to other raceday and pre-raceday requirements
- Operate, maintain and adjust turf machinery
- Apply fertilisers, fungicides, herbicides and insecticides
- Support the gardening team in the planting and trimming of trees, sowing, planting and cutting of grass and watering of plants, gardens, trees, lawns and displays
- Remove cuttings, rakes leaves, cleans/empty litter bins, clean gutters/drains/culverts

This role is classified under the South Australian Jockey Club Ground Staff Enterprise Agreement 2022. There is a requirement for weekend work for which penalties apply.
