Disability Support Worker

Queensland • Southport, Queensland 4215, Australia • Casual

Description

We’re looking for someone who gets it. Someone who knows that real support starts with a genuine connection, not a checklist.

At Soul Support, we work alongside neurodivergent young adults aged 17+ to build confidence, independence, and community through the things they actually care about. That might be music, art, gaming, cooking, getting out into the community, or just having someone in their corner who shows up consistently and listens without judgement.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing 1:1 in-home and community-based support tailored to each participant’s goals
  • Supporting daily living skills like cooking, personal care, household tasks, and getting around
  • Building genuine, trust-based relationships with participants and their families
  • Demonstrated experience in disability support, or a genuine willingness and capacity to learn
  • Keeping accurate, strength-based shift notes and documentation
  • Helping participants connect with their interests and their community

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in disability support (or a genuine willingness to learn)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and duty of care in a community services context
  • A Certificate III in Individual Support or similar (or working towards one)
  • A current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • A valid driver’s licence and reliable transport
  • Someone who communicates warmly, stays calm under pressure, and respects every person’s right to choice and dignity

You don’t need to have all the answers. You need to care, show up, and be willing to grow alongside the people you support.
