About your team & role
Join Solvd’s Fleet team and help major Australian businesses get back on the road after an accident. We manage the full claims lifecycle from lodgement to repair, replacement, settlement and recovery, delivering fast, fair and compliant results.
We are looking for a Claims Consultant – Recoveries to join our Fleet Operations Claims team.
You will take ownership of motor recovery claims and work closely with clients, drivers, insurers and third parties to drive strong outcomes. You’ll handle liability assessments, negotiate recoveries and keep stakeholders informed with clear, confident communication, all while balancing legislative and contractual requirements and delivering friendly, professional service.
In this role you will
- Manage motor recovery claims end to end, including reviewing liability and quantum, driving recovery strategies and keeping accurate notes and systems up to date
- Prepare letters of demand, recover costs from at‑fault parties and drive recovery strategies
- Manage liability disputes, gather evidence, request police reports, negotiate settlement arrangements and review Financial Hardship Applications
- Handle customer calls, complaints and sensitive conversations with professionalism and care
- Investigate third parties, chase recoveries to reduce claim costs and identify unallocated funds for prompt action
- Process claims accurately whilst meeting SLAs and KPIs
What you’ll bring
- 2+ years of experience in motor claims, complex claims, liability, total loss, subrogation or related areas such as banking, super, collections, hardship or dispute resolution
- Strong understanding of motor claims and recoveries
- Confident, empathetic communicator
- Highly organised and detail focused, able to manage multiple claims with ease
- Proactive and comfortable taking the lead
- Calm under pressure and confident navigating complex situations
- Collaborative team player with positive energy
- Tech savvy and confident with systems, MS Office and digital tools
- Knowledge of insurance legislation or the General Insurance Code of Practice is a bonus
