Role Overview

We are seeking a Team Leader with strong horticulture and grounds maintenance experience to lead a small team at a well-established retirement village in Croydon. This role is hands-on and involves supervising daily maintenance works, operating equipment, and ensuring the site is maintained to a high presentation standard.

So, what duties can you expect to do?

As Site Supervisor/Team Leader, you will combine strong leadership with technical expertise to ensure the retirement village grounds are maintained to an exceptional standard. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operate grounds maintenance equipment and machinery across the retirement village site.
  • Lead a small team of trade assistants and grounds staff to complete daily maintenance tasks.
  • Engage with residents and site management while representing Solutions+ professionally.
  • Handle site paperwork including pre-starts, reports, Take 5s, and SWMS.
  • Perform mowing, pruning, planting, mulching, and general horticultural work.
  • Operate zero-turn ride-on mowers and other landscaping machinery.
  • Use hand tools and powered equipment for grounds maintenance works.
  • Maintain irrigation systems and check watering schedules.
  • Identify areas for improvement and report maintenance issues.
  • Assist with seasonal planting and garden upgrades.
  • Check soil condition and apply fertilisers or treatments as required.
  • Maintain safe work practices and ensure WHS compliance at all times.

What will you need?

  • Certificate III in Horticulture, Parks & Gardens, or Sports Turf (required)
  • Driver’s licence (Manual or Automatic)
  • National Police Check (required or willingness to obtain)
  • Working with Children Check (required or willingness to obtain)
