Role Overview:
We are seeking additional Full Time and Casual Trade Assistants to support grounds and landscape maintenance at a public university campus in Callaghan, NSW. This role suits hands-on candidates experienced in horticulture, turf maintenance, and general grounds work who can work safely and efficiently within a team environment.
What duties can you expect to do?
- Mowing lawns, edging, and trimming turf areas.
- Pruning shrubs, hedges, and ornamental trees.
- Planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and seasonal displays.
- Watering gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas.
- Applying fertilizers, soil amendments, and mulch.
- Pest, weed, and disease monitoring and treatment.
- Maintaining irrigation systems and performing minor repairs.
- Operating horticultural machinery: mowers, blowers, brush cutters.
- Preparing garden beds and soil for planting.
- Inspecting and reporting on plant health and site conditions.
- Assisting with landscape construction and hardscape installation.
- Following site safety and environmental procedures.
- Supporting team members and supervisors with general grounds tasks.
What will you need?
- A Current Drivers’ licence and own transport
- National Police Check (can obtain after hired)
- Working with Children Check (can obtain after hired)
