Slattery Grays Group is seeking a high-performing State Sales Manager to drive revenue growth, lead a dynamic sales team, and expand our market presence across New South Wales. This is a full-time, permanent strategic leadership role that blends hands-on business development with impactful coaching and performance management.

About the Role
As State Sales Manager based in Milperra/Sydney NSW, you will be responsible for achieving state sales and revenue targets, developing strategic sales initiatives aligned with national objectives, and leading a team of Business Development Managers (BDMs), Senior BDMs, and Relationship Managers.
You will play a key role in new client acquisition, key account growth, team capability development, and ensuring operational excellence across two established brands within the Slattery Grays Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute state sales strategies aligned with national objectives
- Drive new business acquisition across key industries and verticals
- Manage and grow key client relationships at a state level
- Lead, coach and develop the sales team through a structured coaching framework
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing team development
- Analyse market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy
- Collaborate with marketing to enhance brand awareness and lead generation
- Oversee the full sales lifecycle including negotiation and account management
- Prepare and contribute to tenders, proposals, presentations and industry events
- Ensure CRM (Salesforce) accuracy and timely reporting
- Monitor team engagement, performance, and financial outcomes
- Ensure compliance with company policies, WHS and state regulations
What Success Looks Like
- Achievement of state sales and revenue targets
- Strong new business growth and client retention
- High team engagement (minimum 90%) and low turnover
- Accurate CRM reporting and disciplined pipeline management
- Effective cost management aligned with state sales dashboards
- Strong relationships across key state accounts
- Contribution to innovation and continuous improvement
About You
You are a confident and capable sales leader with a proven track record of exceeding team targets and driving business growth.
You will bring:
- Minimum 5 years’ proven sales leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing sales strategies
- Strong business development background (transport, machinery, heavy equipment, motor, mining, marine and/or aviation industries highly regarded)
- Exceptional leadership, coaching and performance management skills
- Strong financial and commercial acumen
- Active experience using Salesforce or similar CRM systems
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
