This particular role sits with Atlas (a Sequana Group Company), our brownfield water and wastewater specialist. Atlas focuses on improving delivery success across the full lifecycle — from condition assessment and optimisation through to renewal and upgrade delivery. Since 2011, their teams have delivered programs 95% on time, 98% on budget, with over $100m in TOTEX savings, by bringing together senior, cross-functional expertise across design, construction, maintenance and delivery management.
Atlas are currently hiring a position for a Lead Mechanical Designer / Design Drafter.
WHAT YOU DO

You will be providing mechanical design and drafting services and working with our team of engineers and designers to deliver great solutions for the water and wastewater infrastructure sector.
You will be leading the way in developing our digital engineering capabilities by assisting our Digital Engineering Lead in accelerating our digital engineering maturity. You will be involved in using point cloud and digital data capture to design solutions for infrastructure projects and produce 3D models and drawing deliverables to direct and facilitate the construction of the facilities.
Responsibilities
Develop general and mechanical design documentation as required (concept and detailed design drawings), including equipment and pipework detailing, supports and platform detailing, including layout and general arrangement drawings
Support the Atlas Digital Engineering Lead in building mechanical libraries and accelerating our digital engineering maturity (including creation of templates and families)
Work with the Atlas Digital engineering Lead to use available CAD software to automate and streamline the management and production of drawings
Ensure consistency of design drawings in accordance with the Client drawing office procedure and AS1100
Deliver measurable benefits and outcomes for the program of works
Manage multiple projects and coordinate works with the team (including overseas resources) to meet delivery timelines
Undertake 3D Laser Scanning works on site (internal training provided), including site general inspections
WHO YOU ARE
Candidates should possess:
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Certificate or Diploma in computer-aided drafting (CAD) or mechanical engineering diploma/degree
Min 10 years mechanical drafting experience
Demonstrated experience with AEC Suite and AutoCAD
Working knowledge of Point Clouds
