Role Purpose This role is designed to provide a high-potential 3rd- or 4th-year student enrolled in a relevant major with meaningful exposure to a professional environment while contributing analytical insight and a fresh perspective to the team. The position supports the application of academic learning to real-world challenges, with a strong emphasis on data analysis, critical thinking, and effective use of digital tools.

WHO YOU ARE

The role seeks candidates who demonstrate relevant work (internships) or professional experience, thoughtful university subject selection, and strong project outcomes. Evidence of leadership and engagement beyond academics, such as volunteer work, committee participation, or team involvement is valued as an indicator of initiative, collaboration, and personal drive. While technical software proficiency and GPA will be considered, greater emphasis is placed on applied analytical capability, professional exposure, leadership potential, and the ability to translate learning into practical impact.

Applicants preferred tertiary study area includes:

  • Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental)
  • Commerce     
  • Economics

Applicants studying dual Eng/Comm or Eng/Econ will be highly considered.

The candidate should possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental), Commerce or Economics.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to perform under time pressure whilst providing high-quality outcomes in every aspect of work.
  • Demonstrated capability and experience in managing a range of tasks and contributing effectively to key projects.
  • Emerging proficiency in project management principles, with familiarity in using relevant tools and software to support project delivery.

WHAT YOU DO

  • Participating in meetings, attending workshops and other training initiatives.
  • Undertaking research, analysing data and assisting the line manager to prepare reports according to specifications. Apply internal QA/QC processes to your own work.
  • Project support and delivery – contribute to the planning and execution of team projects
  • Prepare presentations, reports and dashboards that communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Undertake analyses using a range of skills and tools to support various projects.
  • Shadowing senior staff members, asking questions, and assisting wherever possible.
  • Making suggestions for improvement, where appropriate.
  • Taking notes and sharing your findings with your Supervisor and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Establishing professional relationships and working collaboratively with team members.
  • Maintaining a high degree of professionalism and diligence.
  • Comply with all policies, systems, and procedures of Sequana.
