We’re now looking for a Senior Accountant or experienced Intermediate ready to step up who is not only technically strong but genuinely enjoys working with clients and being part of their bigger financial picture.
About the Role
As a key member of our Accounting team, you will deliver high quality tax and accounting services to a diverse client base, while also playing an active role in building relationships and contributing to their broader financial strategy.
As well as preparing financials you will also be in involved in tax planning, advisory work, and working closely with clients helping them understand their position and make informed decisions in line with their overall goals. You’ll also collaborate with other professionals across our wider group to support and ensure alignment with overall client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements, income tax returns and Business Activity Statements across a range of entity types and levels of complexity
- Deliver tax planning and strategic advice in collaboration with senior team members
- Identify opportunities to add value and improve client outcomes
- Work with a level of autonomy while collaborating with the broader team
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring a high level of trust and satisfaction
- Confidently explain financial and tax concepts (e.g. Div 7A, GST, tax planning strategies) to clients in a clear, non-technical way
About You
You’re someone who enjoys the technical side of accounting and wants to be more involved with clients and advisory conversations.
Most importantly, you want to be client facing. You enjoy building relationships, having conversations, and helping clients understand the ‘why’ behind the numbers.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- A Business/Commerce degree with an Accounting major
- 5+ years’ experience in public practice
- Solid experience preparing financials, tax returns and BAS end to end
- Experience delivering or supporting tax planning and advisory work
- Strong working knowledge of Xero
- Confidence working with complex clients and structures
- The ability to communicate clearly and build rapport with clients
- A proactive mindset with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team
- CA or CPA (completed or in progress) highly regarded
