As a Senior Accountant with Sammut Bulow Group Pty Ltd you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of our business and ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting. You’ll be responsible for managing core accounting functions, preparing financial statements, maintaining compliance, and working directly with our SME clients. You will also provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the accounting team.
Responsibilities:
Role Specific
· Manage end-to-end financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger entries.
· Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
· Ensure all financial activities comply with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
· Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis.
· Reconcile bank accounts and other financial data, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
· Support internal and external audits and contribute to the preparation of tax returns and compliance documentation.
· Manage relationships with SME clients, respond to their accounting queries, and offer proactive financial advice.
· Supervise, mentor, and support junior accountants, helping them grow professionally and ensuring high-quality work.
. Being able to handle exposure to complex CGT events, Small Business CGT and restructuring events, Div7a, UPEs and consolidations will be favourable
. Manage clients with annual turnover of $1 million – $10 million

Skills and Experience
· A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· Completed or in-progress CPA or CA qualification.
· 3–5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a strong understanding of Australian Taxation requirements (Income Tax, GST, FBT, and Payroll Tax).
· Solid knowledge of accounting standards and principles.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or similar platforms).
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
· A strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
· The ability to manage priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively within a team.
