Due to the continuing growth of SafeGauge, we are requiring another team member based in Beresfield.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance production processes, improve efficiency, and reduce waste while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Identify and resolve production issues promptly to minimise downtime, ensuring product quality is upheld across all lines
  • Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of production issues and implement corrective actions
  • Analyse production data and metrics to pinpoint areas for improvement, cost reduction, and process optimisation
  • Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), ensuring they are addressed and implemented promptly to maintain production flow and product integrity
  • Approve deviations and concessions, ensuring they are evaluated and documented appropriately
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, design, product development, stores, and servicing) to implement process improvements and resolve operational challenges
  • Oversee new product industrialisation, ensuring components and products are compliant. This includes product validation, testing and managing pilot runs to ensure new products are ready for full scale production. Additionally, release new bills of materials (BOMs) in Cin7, ensuring they are accurate, and they are reflected in the SOPs (standard operating procedures)
  • Develop and maintain documentation for production processes and procedures to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance
  • Train production personnel on new processes and procedures to ensure the efficient integration of new products and technologies
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, ensuring all production equipment operates efficiently, and performing preventive maintenance (e.g., calibration pumps) to minimise downtime
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities using Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies to enhance production processes, reduce defects, and improve overall efficiency
  • Develop and implement quality control plans and conduct inspections to ensure that all products meet required standards and specifications – on both incoming components and outgoing products. Monitor and track non-conformances
  • Investigate product defects or quality issues through root cause analysis and take corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and certifications (e.g., ISO 9001) and actively participate in internal and external audits
  • Set a strong example of professionalism by demonstrating fairness, ethics, and adherence to SafeGauge’s Code of Conduct

  • Perform other duties as required to support continuous operational improvement and meet SafeGauge’s objectives

What you will bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
  • Proven track record of success in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 2 years of experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of production processes and equipment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Excellent time-management and prioritisation skills, with the ability to balance multiple responsibilities and tasks effectively
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing
  • Ability to work autonomously while also collaborating within a team-based environment
  • Experience in industrialising new products, including managing pilot runs, testing, and validation to ensure a smooth transition into full scale production
  • Proven ability to manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), and concessions from the original design scope effectively to maintain production continuity and product quality whilst minimising risk to the business
  • Experience with quality management systems, including developing and implementing quality control measures

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of engineering principles, including mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools to develop and improve production processes
  • Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and experience in developing and implementing quality control measures
  • Experience in preventive maintenance and equipment management, including troubleshooting and optimising production equipment for maximum uptime
  • Experience in training production personnel on new systems and procedures to ensure smooth integration of new technologies
