Since its inception in 1997, the Rural Workforce Agency Victoria (RWAV) has become a significant and successful non-profit organisation based in Victoria, Australia. 

 RWAV improves access to quality primary care health services and other health services for rural, regional and First Nations communities across Victoria. We improve health outcomes through effective and customised health workforce solutions that are informed through partnerships, workforce and population health data, and collaboration with communities.  

The Role

People & Culture Advisor will be primarily responsible for the delivery of a suite of People and Culture services to all RWAV employees to ensure recruitment and retention of a motivated and competent workforce.  The Advisor will be involved in leading projects and preparing reports for the Executive.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support recruitment processes, including job postings, interviews, and onboarding of new staff.
  • Management of People and Culture Systems, including HRIS and LMS.
  • Supporting the People and Culture Manager with the preparation of Management and Board reports
  • Provide expert advice on employee relations, performance management, and organisational development.
  • Facilitate training and development programmes to enhance employee skills and career progression.
  • Conduct employee engagement surveys and analyse results to inform culture initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and organisational policies.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee queries regarding policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Promote diversity and inclusion initiatives within the workplace.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, along with relevant HR Certifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary HR practices and employment legislation, including Work, Health & Safety.   
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation and best practices in people management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in developing or implementing Reconciliation Action Plans
