Who We Are
Since its inception in 1997, the Rural Workforce Agency Victoria (RWAV) has become a significant and successful non-profit organisation based in Victoria, Australia.
RWAV improves access to quality primary care health services and other health services for rural, regional and First Nations communities across Victoria. We improve health outcomes through effective and customised health workforce solutions that are informed through partnerships, workforce and population health data, and collaboration with communities.
The Role
As the Outreach Support Officer, you will be a central point of coordination and support for RWAV’s Outreach First Nations Programs, while also providing operational and administrative support to Outreach Coordinators delivering Victorian Outreach programs and services.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of community impact, stakeholder engagement, and program coordination, and who takes pride in delivering high‑quality support in a collaborative environment.
You will report to the Senior Coordinator, Victorian Outreach & Regional Services and work closely
with internal teams, health providers, and external stakeholders across rural, regional and First Nations communities.
This is a 2 year fixed-term role, employed on a part-time basis at 4 days per week (0.8FTE).
Key Responsibilities
In this varied and rewarding role, you will:
- Be the first point of contact for outreach enquiries, providing clear, timely advice and excellent customer service
- Assess Eye and Ear Surgical Support (EESS) applications and communicate funding outcomes with applicants and providers
- Coordinate invoices and work with Contracts and Finance teams to support accurate and timely payments
- Support the collection, organisation and quality of program data for reporting, monitoring and presentations
- Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support smooth program delivery
- Coordinate meetings, outreach trips, stakeholder engagement activities and information sessions
- Prepare communications, mailouts and share program updates and success stories
- Maintain accurate records across systems (including Salesforce CRM), SOPs and program documentation
- Contribute to continuous improvement and a positive, values driven workplace culture
Selection Criteria
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A relevant tertiary qualification and experience in communications, recruitment, health or a related field
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a customer focused approach
- Experience working with data for reporting and evaluation
- High attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- Experience working with or supporting First Nations communities
- Strong computing skills, including experience with Salesforce CRM, Microsoft Office and advanced Excel

- Current driver’s license and capacity to travel within Victoria where required.
