As we expand, we are seeking an experienced and driven Vineyard Operations Manager to join our permanent plantings production team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for delivering high-quality vineyard production through strong planning, people leadership, and operational excellence.

About the Role

As the Vineyard Operations Manager, you will oversee all day-to-day vineyard operations, ensuring production targets are achieved efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead teams, coordinate resources, and work closely with internal stakeholders to optimise performance across the vineyard.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Oversee and lead all day-to-day vineyard operations, ensuring activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in line with production schedules
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement vineyard programs including irrigation, nutrition, pest and disease management, canopy management, and harvesting
  • Translate production plans into practical, on-ground execution, ensuring quality, yield, and cost targets are achieved
  • Allocate and manage labour, machinery, and contractor resources to maximise productivity and efficiency
  • Monitor vineyard performance, identifying risks or delays early and implementing corrective actions
  • Work closely with the production team to design and refine production systems and schedules
  • Ensure all plant and equipment is utilised effectively and maintained in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager
  • Lead workforce planning including rostering, shift planning, and fatigue management
  • Supervise, coach, and develop team members, driving accountability and high performance
  • Oversee onboarding, training, and competency development of vineyard staff
  • Maintain accurate records of operations, labour, and production data to support reporting and decision-making
  • Manage vineyard budgets, track costs, and contribute to financial planning including capital expenditure
  • Ensure all vineyard activities comply with quality assurance standards and operational procedures
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency
  • Provide strong health and safety leadership, including hazard identification, risk management, and incident investigation
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders including HR, QA, and senior management to achieve business outcomes
  • Communicate clearly and proactively across all levels of the business

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in vineyard or agricultural operations management
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Proven ability to manage resources, budgets, and production schedules
  • Solid understanding of vineyard operations and machinery
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
