Summary of the role:

The Sourcing & Vendor Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the development and execution of sourcing strategies to optimise the procurement process and mitigate supply risk, while ensuring the successful supply of products to the organisation.

This role will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing vendors to drive best practice production processes and continuous improvement activities around cost savings and quality improvements, along with managing vendor performance and negotiating contracts.

You will work closely with the Engineering and Quality Departments to ensure product specifications are met and maintained, and with Procurement to ensure material costs are up to date and orders are being placed against appropriate vendors.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Create and implement effective sourcing strategies that align with business objectives and drive operational efficiency with both existing and new vendors.
  • In conjunction with our Innovation Design Centre, Product Management and Purchasing, Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and capacity. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers, implementing contracts or agreements to secure favourable terms and pricing while minimising risk.
  • Monitor and manage monthly pricing for aluminum supplies.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with supply chain disruptions, technology opportunities and global impacts such as duties and taxes.
  • Work with internal cross functional teams and suppliers to track performance in key areas of quality, cost, supply performance, productivity opportunities and product development.
  • Implement a robust Vendor Management process that includes initial assessment, onboard and ongoing review for existing and new vendors.
  • Maintain packaging specifications for all vendors, ensuring adherence to minimum Rollease Acmeda standards of weights, labelling, palletisation and crating as required.
  • Address any vendor-related issues or disputes promptly and effectively, ensuring minimal impact on operations. Prepare regular reports on vendor performance, cost savings, and overall vendor management effectiveness for senior management.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in areas of procurement, sourcing, engineering, and supply chain management.
  • Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated capabilities to negotiate supplier contracts and pricing.
  • Experience with Electronic, Metals and Plastic Parts Manufacturing Processes.
