Due to continued growth, we are on the lookout for a Traffic Engineer to join our dynamic, fast-paced and innovative team in Brisbane.
This full-time position offers the opportunity to be part of a dedicated traffic and transport team working on a range of project sizes and types, from stand-alone traffic studies to multi-disciplinary development projects.
You will have a dedicated career coach, as well as technical mentors from whom you can develop your technical skills in this space, and have exposure to how they are implemented in the greater engineering and project outcomes.

The opportunity
In this varied role you will:

Grow – Have the support of key traffic engineers to technically train, whilst having a coach to work with you to set career goals.

You will be responsible for:
- Traffic impact assessments for a diverse number of developments across land development, built environment and agriculture
- Road safety and capacity upgrade projects across infrastructure sectors
- Road & intersection design and conceptual layouts
- Internal layout reviews on a number of diverse development types
- Adding to RMA’s well rounded main roads pre-qualifications, be part of improving our road system through delivery of transport planning projects throughout Queensland, for both state and local governments
- In conjunction with RMA’s strong reputation for quality land development projects and relationships with local governments, influence our cities and towns by providing transport outcomes as part of structure and local area planning projects
About you:
- A motivated individual who is passionate about traffic and transport infrastructure in the land development, infrastructure, built environment and agricultural sectors
- You have an eye for detail and for following defined operating processes and procedures
- A self-motivated team player with initiative and problem-solving skills
- You keep accurate records and see projects through to timely completion
- You are not afraid to use the latest technology and software to support you in your role
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling the best translation of technical traffic outcomes to be clearly integrated into overall project outcomes
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering
- Preferably 1-2 years’ experience as a traffic and transport engineer, with working knowledge of Australian standards, best practice guidelines, current trends and legislation in order to deliver innovative and practical traffic and transport solutions (note: we would also consider a fresh graduate with undergrad experience in the field)
- Exposure to delivering traffic impact assessments and analysis for local and state government networks as well as conceptual layouts for infrastructure projects
- Proficient in analysis tools, including SIDRA
- Experience with AutoCAD and AutoTURN (desirable)
- Open unrestricted Driver’s Licence
- Queensland Construction Induction Card (White Card)
