Our Healthcare team delivers medical, dental and allied health services from our Ashfield and Blacktown clinics, offering compassionate, high-quality care to those most in need.
About the role:
The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation is seeking a compassionate and experienced Dentist to join our Social Health and Wellbeing (SHW) team. This is more than just a clinical role, it’s an opportunity to provide essential oral healthcare to people experiencing homelessness, poverty, and other complex vulnerabilities.
You’ll deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care in a supportive environment where every patient matters, and your work directly changes lives.
Please note, this role is an optional – casual or part time position.
What you will do:
- Provide comprehensive dental care: oral exams, cleaning, fillings, extractions, and restorative treatments
- Conduct diagnostic assessments including radiographs and screenings
- Develop tailored treatment plans and educate patients on preventative oral health
- Perform minor oral surgical procedures, administer anaesthetics, and prescribe medications
- Restore teeth with crowns, veneers and fillings, fit and manage dentures
- Supervise and support allied dental staff including hygienists, therapists and prosthetists
- Collaborate closely with internal caseworkers and external providers for integrated client care
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to continuous service improvement
You will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry (or equivalent) recognised by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Current AHPRA registration and eligibility to practice in Australia
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Dentist, with broad diagnostic and treatment planning expertise
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people who face complex needs
- An understanding of trauma-informed practice, experience in community settings is highly valued
- A compassionate, patient approach to supporting those who struggle to access mainstream dental care
