Due to company expansion, RAATISC are looking for a committed, skilled and passionate individual to join the friendly RAATSIC team as a Team Lead (Identified Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander) – Level 5 – Strengthening Family Connections (Delegated Authority – DA) Program and Family Participation Program (FPP) – Cairns based.

Position Purpose:

The primary responsibility of the Strengthening Family Connections Program (Delegated Authority) and Family Participation Program (FPP) – Team Lead is to actively:

• Engage with First Nations families with children and young people, aiding them in fostering a safe and healthy family environment.

• Coordination and support to the team with community engagement participation/hosting of significant community events.

• Respecting community protocols and diversity of cultures, beliefs, values, and traditions.

• Maintain a duty of care to Family Participation Program and Strengthening Family Connections teams.

• Provide support and guidance to the teams, that aligning with best practice and ensuring program processes are followed.

• Attend case review meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

• Ensure data entry, family plans and client records are accurate and factual in appropriate. database/s with all relevant documentation.

• When required undertake travel to support stakeholder and client engagement.

• Assist Program Manager with quarterly data reporting, this includes quarterly case studies.

• Develop and maintain relevant networks and knowledge of internal and external services including referral pathways.

• Work collaboratively and effectively with stakeholders and staff to provide the highest standard of services to community.

• Respect of individual’s cultural diversity, and knowledge of cultural safety.

The Opportunity:

• This position is full-time, based in Cairns and travel will be required on a regular basis.

• Provide innovative, intensive wrap-around outreach family support services to children to engage and support families and the children themselves via creative strengths-based evidence informed intervention strategies.

• Maintain client data records and adhere to confidentiality policies and practices.

• Provide trauma-informed, client-centred, and culturally safe services.

• Have the ability to work in a culturally respectful and competent manner with First Nations young people, their families and communities to ensure that cultural connections are fostered and maintained.

• Have effective time management and be a strong communicator with interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively within a team.

• Resilient and empathetic, able to handle sensitive situations with professionalism.

• Initiative, self-motivation and a positive attitude.
