Summary:

The Redress Program Support Officer plays a key role in supporting clients that are accessing the Redress Support Services by providing high quality administrative support, providing intake assistance, co-ordinating waitlists and providing client support. This role requires you to work closely with the counselling team to ensure clients are informed and supported throughout their Redress journey. The role requires a trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach, along with strong organisational skills to support clients with continuity of care and effective program delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the administration and coordination of the Redress Program.
  • Maintain supportive contact with clients, assisting with updates and the coordination of services.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to program activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective communication and service delivery.
  • Support counsellors with referrals, documentation, appointments and task coordination.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality improvement and service processes.
  • Monitor client wellbeing indicators and escalate complex or high-risk matters as required.

Essential

  • Experience in client support, intake, coordination, or administration withing community or human services.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with people affected by trauma.
  • An ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing tasks priorities.
  • Proficiency in using office software and databases for record-keeping and reporting.
  • A commitment to confidentiality and ethical handling of sensitive information.

Desirable

  • Experience with client management software.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice.
  • Awareness of the National Redress Scheme and its impact on survivors.

Requirements

  • A satisfactory Northern Territory working with children check (Ochre Card).
  • A valid NT Driver’s License
  • A satisfactory national criminal history check.
  • A commitment to our Safeguarding Children Practice and Behaviour Guidelines.
