The opportunity

With several large-scale HazMat projects underway—we’re excited to invite applications for a Senior HazMat Consultant to join our East Coast team based in Sydney. This is more than a role, it’s a chance to expand your career, embrace new challenges and experience life on Australia’s vibrant East Coast. You’ll have the opportunity to lead and deliver hazardous materials project work while helping shape the future direction and growth of our HazMat business unit.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct and/or manage surveys or inspections for asbestos and other hazardous building materials
- Complete or oversee asbestos airborne fibre sampling in line with relevant standards
- Undertake visual clearance inspections following asbestos remediation
- Undertake asbestos and other hazardous material hygiene supervision on site
- Manage asbestos remediation projects for clients
- Prepare technical reports, asbestos registers, management plans, and scopes of work
- Support the delivery and coordination of large-scale HazMat projects
About you
You’re passionate about the HazMat and Occupational Hygiene industry and motivated to continue developing your career with a leading organisation. You’re comfortable working independently and enjoy being part of a collaborative team. You build strong, effective relationships with colleagues and clients and communicate confidently with people at all levels.
You will ideally bring
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, environment, or science (or equivalent)
- PTA Certification / Licensed Asbestos Assessor (LAA)
- Experience with hazardous materials management software (e.g., TEAMS, AlphaTracker)
- Highly organised with excellent planning skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to build strong client relationships
- A willingness to share knowledge, collaborate with peers and mentor junior team members
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a consulting team
- Flexibility to travel, including to remote locations
- Valid unrestricted Drivers License
