What you’ll do
As a Diesel Mechanic you will be primarily accountable for:
·Maintenance and technical support for locomotives both in our workshop and the field.
·Maintaining, servicing, repairing, testing and commissioning of locomotives.
·Carry out fault analysis within the locomotive systems.
·Implement cost effective corrective solutions based on sound failure analysis techniques.
·Maintain maintenance program records in accordance with our Rail Safety Management System requirements and relevant Engineering Standards.
What you’ll bring
As a successful applicant the skills and experience required for this position are:
·Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate
·Previous experience on locomotives, freight maintenance or service activities is preferred but not essential
·Working experience within a heavy maintenance environment
·Strong previous experience and ability to fault find and utilise trouble shooting skills
·Safety focused
·Certified competency as a forklift operator, overhead crane driver and/or welder would be
advantageous but not essential
·Ability to work unsupervised and be a hands-on team player
·Exceptional customer service skills
·Proven ability to organise and prioritise tasks, be flexible and resourceful, proactive, and
professional in a manner using a high degree of initiative and strong communication skills
·Ensure commitment to a safe workplace and promote an excellent teamwork attitude
