What you’ll do
As a Fitter you will be primarily accountable for:
• Servicing, component change outs and repairs to rollingstock
• Overhaul of rollingstock, components and various other plant and equipment
• Pipework and air system installations
• Rollingstock and new wagon build fit outs
• Repairs to other plant and equipment as required
• Maintaining records pertaining to maintenance programs in accordance with the requirements of our Rail Safety Management System and relevant engineering standards
What you’ll bring
As a successful applicant you will be trade qualified and have experience in the following areas:
• Knowledge and experience in maintenance in a heavy engineering industry
• Experience in a rail related field is preferred but not essential, heavy equipment maintainers are encouraged to apply
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of WHS legislation and risk standards
• Ability to work as part of a team and unsupervised when required
• Excellent interpersonal, time management and organisational skills are essential
• Effective problem-solving skills, a positive attitude and be keen to contribute to continuous improvement to meet our reliability, availability and safety standards
• Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical with drug and alcohol screening
