Queensland Ballet is seeking multiple casual Facilities Officers.
The Facilities Officer works across Queensland Ballet’s day-to-day facilities operations to schedule preventative maintenance tasks, respond to maintenance emergencies, and ensure all building systems are operational. This role works as an integral member of the Facilities team to ensure the safety of all staff, clients, students, patrons, and members of the public visiting Queensland Ballet’s homes.
Queensland Ballet operates across multiple sites, including West End and Kelvin Grove, and Facilities Officers must be available to work at various locations as directed. This role requires flexibility for shifts, including early mornings (from 4:00am), late evenings (until 1:00am), and weekends.
In this role, you will:
- Oversee day-to-day facilities operations and administration across all Queensland Ballet sites.
- Perform building and grounds maintenance to ensure safety, cleanliness, and functionality of all spaces, including theatres and studios.
- Supervise and manage facilities work done by contractors and staff, ensuring compliance with programs, contracts, and safety standards.
- Maintain daily reporting, record-keeping, and administration related to venue maintenance, security, operations, and WELL reporting.
- Stay familiar with building systems, emergency evacuation procedures, and safety protocols; perform Fire Safety Advisor duties when required.
- Foster effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders regarding facilities services.
- Assist with operational planning, coordinate activities, monitor budgets, and report on site maintenance and expenditure.
- Ensure compliance with Queensland Ballet policies, statutory maintenance records, and oversee ‘soft’ services like cleaning, security, and waste management.
- Manage operational needs of tenants in accordance with tenancy agreements and ensure exceptional customer service.
- Maintain Queensland Ballet vehicles, schedule services, perform checks, and report damage under the direction of the Facilities Manager.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in building maintenance and/or facilities operations, including an awareness of Australian Standards, Acts, Codes and Regulations as they relate to building compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to provide hands on facilities management support and work flexibly to deliver on facilities requirements and ensure adherence to all applicable WHS legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and communicate collaboratively within a diverse and creative organisation, while fostering a positive team culture across all aspects of facilities management.
- This role requires a minimum C Class Drivers Licence.
