About the Role
As Senior Project Officer, you will lead the design and delivery of stakeholder engagement, resources, training, and activities to update and implement the Healing Our Children and Young People framework, addressing the impacts of domestic and family violence (DFV) in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Queensland.
You will work alongside 8 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Family Wellbeing Services (FWS) in Townsville, Cairns, Mackay, Mareeba, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba/Southwest region, Rockhampton, and the Torres Strait. Regular travel to these locations may be required. You will also contribute to other Centre of Excellence priority initiatives, leading stakeholder engagement, resource and report development, and project coordination to strengthen culturally safe practice and workforce capability.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Lead project delivery, including planning, scheduling, risk management, and progress reporting.
Support the design and maintenance of project management processes, tools, and templates.
Manage project budgets and documentation.
Collect, analyse, and report on data to inform project evaluation and improvement.
Develop complex written documents, consultation reports, resources, and training materials.
Coordinate travel and logistics for project staff and stakeholders.
Provide management and supervision to a small team.
Engage and consult with QATSICPP staff, members, and stakeholders.
Organise and deliver events, workshops, and forums.
Represent QATSICPP in stakeholder meetings and sector forums.
Conduct duties in accordance with QATSICPP policies and Code of Conduct.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Capabilities
Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community-Controlled organisations is highly regarded.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently, flexibly manage workloads and project resources, take initiative, and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
Positive attitude and commitment to organisational values and performance.
Mandatory Requirements
More than five years’ relevant work experience and qualifications.
Current valid Queensland Working with Children’s Card (Blue Card) or eligibility to apply.
Current driver’s licence.
Ability to travel within Queensland as required.
This role is full time, fixed term contract to December 2027
