The Role

The Sales Development Representative plays an important role within the Simpel sales team, focused on lead generation, outbound outreach, prospecting and qualification.

This role is responsible for creating new business opportunities by identifying and engaging prospective customers across the construction and development sectors. You will be the first point of contact for many prospects, helping to build interest in the Simpel platform, qualify opportunities and progress them into the sales pipeline.

This is a high-activity, high-impact role suited to someone who is commercially minded, energetic and motivated by performance. You will work closely with Account Executives and the wider commercial team to help drive pipeline growth and support the continued expansion of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of the Simpel platform, its value proposition and the markets we serve
  • Identify, engage and manage prospective customers and new revenue opportunities
  • Conduct outbound prospecting through a range of channels, including phone, email, LinkedIn and events
  • Generate qualified leads and create new sales opportunities for the business
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects and customers
  • Schedule meetings and support Account Executives in progressing opportunities, including participating in discovery calls and product demos where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate records of lead activity, pipeline progression and likely conversion outcomes
  • Report on prospecting activity, lead generation performance and sales opportunities
  • Achieve and exceed individual targets and performance metrics
  • Represent Simpel professionally at events and industry activities
  • Build strong working relationships internally and externally that contribute to long-term commercial success

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as a Sales Development Representative, Business Development Representative or in a similar sales role
  • Ideally 2+ years’ experience in SaaS, software or technology-led sales
  • Strong understanding of CRM practices and structured sales processes
  • Ability to build productive, credible and professional business relationships
  • High energy, positive attitude and strong personal presentation
  • Self-motivated and process-driven, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence using sales systems and tools
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.
